These results have been found by carrying out tests on people that have previously attempted to commit suicide. Research findings around this area do provide contradicting findings but in general there does appear to be a drop in the rates of depression and suicide. At one stage prisons within the UK went through a stage of providing inmates with fish oil supplements in an attempt o reduce the amount of assaults.
The consumption of fish oils is highly recommended during the pregnancy process; these oils help both the mother and the baby. These fish oils are especially crucial for the early visual development of the baby. As the western diet severely lacks in Omega 3 many medical professionals recommend that mothers consume fish oil supplements. There are many different places where fish oils can be purchased from, for example most supermarkets and pharmacist’s stock them. In most cases a person will take one fish oil softgel per day and this will usually be in the morning.
